Chrysanthemum and a broken branch

This was my side-table arrangement for the Ikebana International San Francisco Bay Area Chapter’s meeting.

I borrowed this striking cube-tower vase by Arakawa Pottery from Katsuko Sensei. Donna (my Sogetsu classmate) gifted me this dramatic piece of wood covered in lichen and moss after pruning her trees.

Materials: Chrysanthemum, Firethorn, Chinese Pistache, other fall branches (unidentified)
