Tulip and Eucalyptus bark

This was displayed for Ikebana International San Francisco Bay Area Flower Show in San Francisco. I wanted using tulips, but store-bought stems were not long enough for my design. John, a member of Peninsula Rose Society, who planted over 2,000 tulip bulbs, generously offered his precious harvest. Notice the close-up photos of the tulips on the left (the first day) and on the right (the second day). It was intentional. I was worried that the tulips would bloom too quickly in the warm climate, so I waited until the last day of the event to flip the petals over for a more dramatic look.

A behind-the-scenes video is also available.
